Color psychology and choosing colors in product video

ContentMarch 14, 2026

Color = emotional pre-load

Before the viewer sees the product, the scene's dominant color sets the mood. Cool-blue scenes feel "trust, clean, premium." Warm-orange scenes feel "cozy, friendly, soft."

Category–color mapping

**Blue/white:** cleaning products, tech, professional services. **Warm orange/brown:** food, home decor, coffee. **Pastel pink/purple:** cosmetics, personal care, small luxury. **Green-nature:** organic, vegan, sustainable. **Black-gold:** premium, luxury fragrance, jewelry.

Warm/cool balance

Test the warm and cool versions of the same product. Warm tends to win on Instagram/Pinterest; cool tends to win on LinkedIn/Twitter.

Don't shift the product color

When changing scene color, the product's own color must stay the same. A white cream entering a blue scene must not turn bluish. Lock this explicitly in the prompt.
